Ministry of Education brought together several Moscow universities – RBC

The Ministry of education and science of Russia reported on the reorganization of several metropolitan universities. The ministry said that the unification of educational institutions due to their handling of academic councils

In the document, which has published the press service of the Ministry of Education, reports on the Signature Sanya order on the reorganization of several metropolitan universities. Russian State Geological Prospecting University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze will be attached to the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after IM Gubkin Moscow State Forest University – to the Moscow State Technical University named after NE Bauman and the State University of Management – the Moscow State Law University named OE Kutafin.

The department indicated that the decision on reorganization was made after the relevant references from the scientific councils of the listed universities. The Ministry of Education stressed that all proposals have been discussed in detail with representatives of universities, Council of Rectors of Moscow and Moscow region, as well as representatives of trade union organizations.

Over the past few years, the reform of the Ministry of Education has touched more than 20 universities in Moscow and St. .Petersburg which were reorganized by merger. Among them, the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Information Science (MESI), MAMI Moscow State Technical University (MAMI), Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technology (MITHT).

The idea of ​​integration of universities in a number of regions has caused students protest action. That this decision was related to the Ministry of Education in 2012 to abandon the idea of ​​combining the two schools in Tambov, in favor of which were presented by their academic councils, as well as the governor of the region. Later, the head of department Dmitry Livanov acknowledged that the initiative was not discussed with the students.
