Smartphones provoke strabismus in children – REGNUM

Seoul, April 20, 2016, 10:30 – REGNUM Doctors from South Korea came to the conclusion that the development of strabismus in children is associated with the use of smartphones, according to Yonhap.

The study involved 12 children aged 7 to 16 years, suffering from convergent squint. This violation of the human eye is drawn to the nose.

It turned out that all of them every day from 4 to 8 hours per day spent on the use of smart phones, keeping them at a distance of 20-30 cm from the face. Doctors banned them at the time of treatment to use these gadgets, and two months at ¾ of patients strabismus was completely straightened.

The study’s authors believe that should be given no more gadget consecutive hour in order to avoid such problems. Given that esotropia often occurs in children under the age of 5 years, you should pay particular attention to the use of children’s smartphones and tablets.
