Scientists were able to revive the animal 30 years after freezing – “What’s going on?”

“Water Bear” could revive the scientists

The Japanese National Institute of known studies celebrating success in reviving the creature that has known as “water bears” or Tardigrada. The animal was found in moss in Antarctica in 1983, then it was frozen at a temperature of -20 degrees. And in May 2014 the animal was successfully thawed.

The authors of the research experiment reported that Tardigrada successfully adapt to life after their defrosting. This creature is very small, the size of his less than one millimeter in length. Lives being in extreme environmental conditions.

In addition, the “water bears” can slow the metabolic activity of their own for a long time.
