Japanese astronaut Kimia Yui said he intends to to become “a bridge between Japan and Russia,” says NHK .

«I learned the Russian language and would like to further play the role of bridge between the two countries in the field of space,” – he said at a press conference in Star City.

He spent 142 days on the ISS together with Russian and American astronauts. It is noted that the questions Yui replied in Russian.

The Japanese also stressed that he was ready “tomorrow to go into space again, but as there is a sequence, it supports the following Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi.”

For the Japanese astronaut most memorable event was the moment of the successful docking of the cargo ship from Japan’s robotic arm.
