“in the document separately registered allied commitments of Belarus military assistance in the framework of the Union state and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, participation in peacekeeping operations”, -. says in the conclusion to the relevant bill.
Previous revision of military doctrine was adopted in 2002. Earlier, Defense Minister of Belarus Andrei Ravkov said that the document has “exhausted its strategic mission.” He said that the new document has retained the basic principle – a defensive orientation. The minister said that the new military doctrine recognizes that all the recent war, which took place in the world, include elements of a hybrid war, and therefore, the Belarusian armed forces are prepared to confront it.
He also noted that recent events in the world, in particular the “color revolutions”, the “Arab spring”, the war in Syria has shown that an important role in destabilization assigned provoking internal conflicts from the outside. According to him, developed new military doctrine of Belarus defined preventive measures to the threats and risks of military action to eliminate.
Military Doctrine, in particular the marking of the list of military threats, the designation of the list of measures to be implemented by Belarus to ensure its safety, changes in approaches to the definition of the nature of modern military conflicts. Separately, the document spelled out the obligations of Belarus allied military assistance in the framework of the Union State and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, participation in peacekeeping operations.
