The remains of the young cave lion found in Yakutia – Moskovsky Komsomolets

In Yakutia, found well-preserved remains of two young cave lions. Animals are well preserved in permafrost conditions, their age is estimated at 10 thousand years.

Scientists are preparing to make a sensational statement on this discovery on November 17 during a large conference, where come paleontologists from foreign countries.

“In summer, during one of his expeditions in the northern region of Yakutia were found two puppies cave lions that lived more than 10 thousand years ago and became extinct, along with mammoths. The exact dating will be determined after radiocarbon dating” – told Tass Head of studying mammoth fauna of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic Albert Protopopov.
