The European Parliament asked the EU to stop the persecution Snowden – RIA Novosti

BRUSSELS, Oct. 29 – RIA Novosti, Alexander Shishlo. The European Parliament in plenary session on Thursday in Strasbourg, by a majority vote adopted a resolution calling on the EU to stop “any persecution” Edward Snowden, told RIA Novosti spokesperson of the Assembly.

The parliamentarians called on EU member states “to abandon any prosecution Snowden, to provide him with protection and thus prevent his extradition or return of a third party – in recognition of his status as an informant the danger and the international human rights defender, “the spokesman said.

Former US intelligence officer Edward Snowden unveiled in 2013 data showing that the US National Security Agency spied massively, not only for EU citizens but also a number of European leaders.
