The Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) in the Ministry of Education of Russia approved the passport of a new scientific specialty theology, the website of the WAC. “Special theology reveals the content of theology, base sections of theology, studying the sources of theological knowledge, the basics of faith and religious rituals, historical forms and practices of the religious organization, its religious service, religious cultural heritage in different contexts” – leads the “Interfax” excerpt from a message .
An important area subject field specialty will study the history and current state of inter-religious relations, as well as religious organizations and traditions of the state and society, to the various areas of secular thought.
As part of the specialty will be an analysis of sacred texts, doctrinal literature and monuments of religious literature, theological interpretation of works of art, studied historical and archaeological and religious-cultural context of the sacred texts and their interpretation, social teaching, legal norms and practices of religious institutions, rituals and worship.
Recall earlier this year in the Christ the Savior Cathedral hosted a conference of teachers who teach “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture” in Moscow schools. The event was organized by the Russian Orthodox Church and the Moscow Department of Education.
