China conducted flight tests of the aircraft on hydrogen fuel cells – RBC

Chinese scientists have successfully conducted the first flight test of its aircraft on hydrogen fuel cells. This was announced in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, reports Sina.

As the scientists told, the aircraft made its test flight in the Chinese city of Shenyang at an altitude of 320 m. During the flight there were no emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

the Aircraft is equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell, generating power of 20 kW, which powers the onboard systems of the aircraft.

the Plane was created by scientists from the Chinese province of Liaoning. The basis was taken an electric RX1E aircraft. During takeoff the plane feed fuel cells and lithium batteries. In flight, the aircraft uses power fuel cells that power the battery.

During the flight it was found that the system with hydrogen fuel cells meet the technical standards and is safe for the environment.

As noted by Sina, fuel cells are environmentally friendly, silent in operation and do not emit during operation hazardous substances. In addition, they have a long service life.

Hydrogen fuel cells, and air-aluminum electrochemical generators that transform the chemical energy of a fuel of hydrogen or aluminum into electricity.
