The Moscow city court has decided to block Dailymotion in Russia – RBC

the Court upheld the claim of the TV channel “Friday!” to YouTube Dailymotion and ordered to block the latter on the territory of Russia. Previously the channel was trying to halt the illegal broadcast of their content

the Moscow city court has decided to block Dailymotion French video hosting on the territory of Russia, informs a press-service “Gazprom-media”. The decision was made at the suit of the TV channel “Friday!”, included in the media group.

As stated in the press release, in 2016, the broadcaster has sent several statements with claims in the address of the head office of YouTube. They contained demands to stop broadcasting the most popular programs of TV channel “Friday!”, such as “Revizorro”, “Magazzino”, “Tomboy” and others.

“But the reaction from Dailymotion not followed”, — stated in the press release of the company.

“December 2, 2016, the Moscow city court ruled to satisfy the claim of the TV channel “Friday!”. Representatives Dailymotion within a specified time did not appeal. The decision of the court is directed to Roskomnadzor, to implement the constant blocking of video sharing”, — stated in the message.

Service Dailymotion, owned by French media group Vivendi SA, is the third in the world in attendance videoebony service after YouTube and Vimeo.

Earlier, in December 2016, the TV station filed a lawsuit on protection of reputation to users of Facebook because of the discussion of the program “Revizorro”. In the message channel of the lawsuit said that when discussing the transfer of some users spread false information, as well as “information, the defamatory nature”. They, according to “Friday!”, caused damage of business reputation of the channel.

However, the Moscow Arbitration court has not accepted the claim of the TV channel. Then as told RBC lawyer Natalia Grigorieva, “a plaintiff do when filing a claim did not specify defendants, in violation of article 125 of the Arbitration procedure code of the Russian Federation”.

the Lawyer said that to apply to the court for such categories of disputes, you must define at least the circle of defendants, their location or place of residence, as well as to formulate concrete demands of the plaintiff to the defendant, and if several defendants, the claims must be presented to each of them.

on January 16, the Moscow city court satisfied the claim of “First channel” and demanded to block the last episode of the series “Sherlock”, which is posted on the Internet. Then the Respondent was a hosting provider 3NT Solution LLP.

the Media holding “Gazprom-media” has managed six terrestrial TV channels (NTV, TNT, “Friday!”, TV-3, ТНТ4, “Match TV”), satellite TV operator NTV-PLUS, the production and distribution of thematic TV channels (“Red Media”) as well as ten radio stations (Avtoradio, Energy, Humor FM, Radio Romantika, Comedy Radio, Like FM, Relax FM, Children’s radio, “Echo of Moscow”, 101.ru).
