Russian rocket “Proton-M “brought to the intermediate orbit European communications satellite Astra-2G (Astra-2Y) after the successful launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

After a few hours the machine must be on its design orbit.

As the Roskosmos, it was the last rocket launch in 2014.

The satellite Astra-2G must provide broadcast and broadband in the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Initially planned launch of the European satellite November 28, but was postponed due to a malfunction in the upper stage.
