Tomsk scientists by 2017, will create a robot for the evacuation of people in case of emergency – TASS

TOMSK, 4 Jan. /TASS/. Scientists Tomsk state University (TSU) are planning to March 2017 to build a robot for rescue operations that will evacuate the people and collect the dangerous items. About it reported in a press-service of the University.

“the Robotic platform of the crawler is able to move at speeds up to 40 km/h. Its maximum capacity is over 100 lbs. In case, when there is a need for transportation of the victim, the platform is extendible, it is possible to place the person growing up to two meters. Vision system, which is equipped with a robot, helps him to assess the terrain and to overcome obstacles” – gave the press service of the head of the laboratory of vision systems, national research Tomsk state University Professor Vladimir Syryamkin.

As explained in the press service, the robot will simplify the work of rescuers, who often have to evacuate people from the disaster area on a stretcher, which is especially difficult in cases where the emergency workers are working in gas masks and riot gear. Created in Tomsk, the robot will be able to load on the cargo platform with the manipulator, which is controlled by the operator.

As explained TASS syryamkin Professor, industrial design the robot to be created in March 2017. The average cost of such platforms is estimated at 1 million rubles.

In the future the platform is also planned to equip with devices for automatic control resuscitation, which the University has developed with one of Tomsk companies by order of the Ministry of emergency situations. The installation analyzes the effectiveness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation using signals from acoustic sensors. The device is mounted on the neck of the victim and assess its condition, and then generates the whole sequence of actions for emergency medical care.
