China uses Tibet for the latest space exploration – the Truth.Ru

In the highest education on the planet – Tibet, the Chinese government scheduled the installation of the latest gravitational telescopes at an incredible height of 6 kilometers above sea level.

On Saturday, reported the Xinhua news Agency with reference to the representative of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

“At the moment, is the setting of the first device with the code name Ngari-1. It will be located 30 km South of the city, Sichuang,” – said in an interview Professor Yao Yongqiang, participating in the work of the interdepartmental group of experts. The country’s leadership has set a task for them – to equip the most mountainous in the world the Observatory for more efficient space exploration.

For the construction of two telescopes, the PRC government has allocated 130 million yuan (us$ 18.7 million). The project will involve scientists from several research organizations, including the National astronomical observatories at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and information technology and Institute of high energy physics.

As explained by scientist, the first telescope will be at the height of 5.2 thousand meters above sea level, but the other, Ngari-2, will be located at 800 meters above. Yao Yongqiang did not specify how many of the latest gravitational wave detectors is planned to be set in Tibet, noting that the first of them will work in 2021.

we will Remind as reported the Truth.Ru in China in September launched in the southwestern Chinese province of Guizhou, the world’s largest radio telescope FAST (Five hundred meter Aperture Spherical Telescope).

Device threatens to break the record the largest currently used telescope in the world – the Arecibo Observatory located in Puerto Rico. The diameter of the reflector of FAST is 500 meters which is 200 meters more than at the telescope in the Arecibo Observatory. According to chief project engineer Wang Cimina designed and built by Chinese specialists, the telescope will be the largest in the world for another 10-20 years.

Despite the enormous scientific contribution to establish a gigantic Observatory, the Chinese government had to be moved from the place where will be located the FAST, nine thousand families.

Where it moved “neighbors” telescope cleared for its parameters of the earth, is still unknown, but indicates that as compensation they were offered at 1.5 million dollars (10 thousand yuan).
