The channel “Friday” has filed a lawsuit against users of Facebook because of “Revizorro” – RBK

the TV Channel “Friday” has submitted the claim about protection of reputation to users of Facebook because of the discussion of the program “Revizorro” about this report “Vedomosti” with reference to the statement of the channel. Its General Director Nikolay Kartozia confirmed this information.

According to the TV channel, the lawsuit was filed because of a discussion in the Facebook edition of “Revizorro”, which tested the restaurant “Odessa-Mama”. Some users were spreading false information and “information, the defamatory nature”. Thereby they caused damage of business reputation of the TV channel, the report says. It was also named the names of four people: Ilya Vitinov, Arthur Pasahow, Mikhail Mironov, Zhanna Nesterova.

As reported by “Vedomosti” representative of “Friday,” Natalia Abramochkin, a lawsuit for defamation filed against 20 users. The RBC she said that the lawsuit was filed in the Moscow Arbitration court. The suit was brought on 12 December of the TV company “LLC Friday,” said RBC Deputy head of the Secretariat of the President of the court Elena Fortunatov. In her words, “it is not known who is the defendant in this suit”.

“Channel tired of making excuses and write open letters and statements that we don’t take money. We decided to sue the people who claim that the program “Revizorro” can somehow be bribed or negotiated. We decided with these people to translate the dialogue in the legal field. We at least want the recognition of this is slander and a retraction from users. No massacres we certainly do not want”, — said Abramochkin the RBC. She also added that the lawsuit was filed on ordinary web users that are not the top bloggers. “Service to monitor task — monitor’s top bloggers, and these people were caught in the comments to tradem people like Varlamov, Krasovsky. They are not top bloggers”.

One of the defendants, Ilya Vitinov, in conversation with RBC said that he knows about the claims of “Friday”, although not yet received any notification neither from the court nor from the channel. Vitinov said to delete anything will not be, and his words not refuse. “I wrote (on the page in Facebook. the RBC) that the team of the program “Revizorro” does not always come to restaurants unexpectedly, and with some trying to negotiate, I don’t know how this could tarnish the reputation of the channel”, — said the defendant.

Another defendant listed in the lawsuit of the channel, said RBC that is ready to defend his opinion in court. “I have not insulted anyone, was not threatening and was not accused of bribery. I just expressed my opinion, which is ready to defend in court,” added Pasahow.

As reported by “Vedomosti” CEO “Friday” Nicholas Kartozia, he wants “people to understand that there are consequences for publicly writing that we take bribes”, and that “it is impossible with impunity to threaten” leading Elena Flying, promising “to cut off its head and gut”.

In August of 2015, the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation after the beating of journalists of the program “Revizorro” in one of the cafes Salekhard. In July of this year, the court sentenced to probation, the café owner and her two employees.
