London, July 14, 2015, 13:34 – REGNUM Scientists of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, working on the Large Hadron Collider , announced the discovery of a new material particle – pentaquark predicted earlier by Russian physicists Dmitry Dyakonov, Victor Petrov and Maxim Polyakov of the Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute, the press service of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).
Says Scientist LHC Guy Wilkinson, “pentaquark – not just a new particle. It’s a whole new way of connecting quarks – components of protons and neutrons ».
According to him, the study will help to find new particle properties of matter, from which we are composed.
As scientists believe, pentaquark consists of 2 “top” quark, a “lower”, a “charmed” and one “antiocharovannogo».
The results of their research will be published in the physics journal Physical Review Letters.
