MOSCOW, July 14 – RIA Novosti. Experts of the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) after a series of experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) announced the discovery of the previously predicted by Russian scientists of a new particle, called pentaquarks.
“pentaquark – is not just a new particle. It brings together the quarks, that is, the fundamental components of the common protons and neutrons in a way that has never been observed for more than 50 years of experimental research, “- said the online BAC representative team of scientists Guy Wilkinson (Guy Wilkinson).
He said that the study of the properties pentaquarks to better understand how to construct the ordinary matter.
The ability to predict the existence of pentaquarks staff of the St. Petersburg Institute of Nuclear Physics named after Konstantinov Dmitriy Dyakonov, Maxim Polyakov Viktor Petrov.
The experiments at the LHC are aimed at opening the mystery of how the universe was created. Before renovation LHC was used to prove the existence of Higgs boson, also known as the “God particle”.
Large Hadron Collider built by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) with the participation of physicists from many countries, including Russia. It is located on the border of Switzerland and France.
