a team of researchers from the Moscow physical-technical Institute and the nuclear physics Institute in Moscow concluded that since the Big Bang the amount of dark matter in the Universe has decreased by approximately 2-5 percent. Because of this, the values of some important cosmological parameters during the existence of the Universe has changed.

Dark matter is a hypothetical substance, manifesting itself only through gravitational interaction with galaxies. To prove its existence while it is impossible, because even if it exists, ways to detect it scientists have yet. However, the majority of experts suggests that the mysterious substance is still present in the Universe and influences it, “correcting” the trajectory of the galaxies. It is assumed that dark matter accounts for about 26 percent of the mass of the Universe, and the “regular” 4.8 per cent. The rest is even more trudnoobogatimye dark energy.
Many experts hold the theory of “cold dark matter”, implying that all its particles are stable. However, in the new study, experts have assumed that some particles of dark matter still decayed since the Big Bang, turned into neutrinos or relativistic particles. The calculations showed that it is quite possible and may even explain such unresolved to date riddles, as the change in the speed of expansion of the Universe.
According to the assumption of the physicists in the Universe today 5% less dark matter than it was in the era of the formation of the first molecules of hydrogen and helium. Possibly, this share of the mysterious substance was destroyed long ago, however, experts do not rule out another possibility: if their theory is correct, the slow process of decay of dark matter particles can continue at the current stage of the Universe.
the Results of the study presented in the journal Physical Review D.
