Point of View promises to return to the market of graphics cards – 3DNews

the Volume of shipments of discrete graphics cards for desktop PCs declined by almost half since 2007, and competition between providers became extremely hard. As a result, some companies are trying to diversify their business with new categories of products, and others have to leave. This week the company Point of View BV (private limited company), a well-known graphics cards vendor in the European and Russian markets, was declared bankrupt one of the Dutch ships. However, the trademark owner claims that a holding company Point of View Holding BV is established and develops plans to return.

Point of View was established in 1994 and since then worked in sales for various electronic devices, including graphics cards. The company became widely known in 2000 years for its low-cost graphics cards, NVIDIA GeForce, wide available in the EU and beyond. As soon as the market of discrete graphics cards has declined, and competition intensified, Point of View was losing market share and tried to diversify their activities, adding to its family of products tablets, accessories for mobile devices and even drones (drones). Although the company continued to offer the graphics card, its lineup of devices based on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 reduced to five cards (against 19 members of the family of GeForce GTX 600 a few years ago). At the same time, tablet sales stagnated or even fell despite the low prices (provided by benefits and subsidies Intel manufacturers in China). Faced with many challenges, Point of View BV filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, and the provincial court of Eas t Brabant has announced its bankruptcy this week.

Bjorn Solli (Bjørn Solli), Executive Director Point of View, announced on Friday that despite the bankruptcy Point of View BV, brand did not disappear from the market of graphics cards. Point of View Holding BV, the parent company, owns several businesses, including Point of View BV, Point of View International BV, Point of View Asia Corp. Ltd., Point of View US LLC and some others. To date, only Point of View BV was declared bankrupt, so it cannot continue its operations, and we will not see any new graphics cards under these brands in Europe or the United States in the near future. Point of View Holding BV (using appropriate structure) is continuing the sales of graphics cards in Latin America, while Supply BV Mobii Partner focused on accessories for mobile devices. However, the Executive Director of Point of View hopes that eventually his company will return to the market of graphics cards “when the time comes”.

“We will do everything to return to the European market” — said Mr Solly. the “we Have a lot of ideas and it will be a variety of products. And it doesn’t take a lot of time!”.
