Asus has introduced another version of the GeForce GTX 1080 Strix – Overclockers.ru

Asus has introduced another own version of the GeForce GTX 1080 called Strix GeForce GTX 1080 A8G (code name STRIX STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING). In fact, novelty is a version of the GeForce GTX 1080 Strix O8G with little factory overclocking, according to TechPowerUp.

So, the GPU, the new GeForce GTX 1080 Strix A8G works with the frequency of 1670/1809 MHz, while the version with index O8G operating frequencies are 1759/1898 MHz. However, the novelty has received quite a significant factory overclocking, because the reference version GeForce GTX 1080 works with the frequency of 1607/1733 MHz. By the way, using a utility GPUTweak II, you can activate the “OC”, where the operating frequencies rise to 1695/1835 MHz.

as for the rest, the GeForce GTX 1080 A8G Strix is no different from their “elder sisters” index O8G. Novelty is also built on a PCB of their own design Asus the power subsystem with 10 phases and 6 – and 8-pin additional power connectors. The heat here also meets well known to us cooling system DirectCU II with three 100 mm fans direct contact heat pipes with the GPU and the RGB led.

unfortunately, neither the information nor the price of the GeForce GTX 1080 A8G Strix Asus has not yet announced, but we expect that its price will be around 5-10% slower than the GeForce GTX 1080 Strix O8G.
