To create a robot for space applications has launched rocket and space Corporation Energia in cooperation with the Central research Institute of robotics and technical Cybernetics and NGOs “Android technology”. 2020 “Cosmorama” will start working in the scientific and energy module (NEM) of the ISS Russian segment.

As reported by “MK” in RSC “Energia”, the complex “Cosmorama” will consist of a mobile robot, control panels, integration and ground segment.
the Robot will be able to navigate the external handrails, NEM, to carry loads and perform different manipulations, including to install and remove the equipment, connect the electrical cables, “see” through the camera the external surface of the module. Cosmobot will also help members of the Russian crew of the ISS during spacewalks. Scientists have defined a list of replacement tools, which will be equipped with their offspring: it includes tools for sampling-swabs, wrench, scissors, tool for joining electrical connectors.
For testing control algorithms needed to perform a variety of operations, RSC Energia will create a special land model-stand.
According to General Director of RSC Energia Vladimir Solntsev, in the future, such robots will be served by automatic spacecraft and work on the surface of the moon and in deep space.
At the present time, the company begins to perform development work on creation of a “Cosmopolita”. Its trial operation is scheduled from 2020 to 2024.
