SOCHI, November 15. /TASS/. Terms of manned launches from the Vostochny cosmodrome will be determined on Tuesday. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on the development strategy of Roscosmos.

“Today will determine the timing of manned launches from the Vostochny cosmodrome,” he said. He also set a task “now actively deploy the second phase of construction” of the spaceport.

Putin said that Russia needs to maintain and increase its position in the space sector, including through a more active participation in commercial projects.

“We need to preserve and enhance Russia’s position in the global space industry to achieve breakthrough advances in the study of outer space, to offer the market a truly innovative technologies and services in demand in the space sector”, – said the head of state.

In particular, according to him, the need to further develop the orbital group – not only due to the increase in the number of spacecraft, but also by improving their quality and reliability. In addition, it is necessary to increase the volume of goods and services that the Russian space Agency can offer consumers in this area.
