The Europeans really want to fly to the moon together with Russia — expert – the Truth.Ru

After a series of setbacks for the Russian space industry is on the threshold of new technological breakthroughs in space technology. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of RF government Dmitry Rogozin. As writes RIA Novosti, one of the challenges facing the Russian space industry, Rogozin noted the project for creating super-heavy rockets, which will ensure the establishment of a manned lunar station.

read More about flights to the moon and a manned station the Truth. Ru told the editor of the magazine “news of cosmonautics” Igor Afanasyev.

— what kind Of breakthrough is it? At what stage of the work to build a manned lunar station?

— From the point of view of technology the Deputy Prime Minister should know that he meant by these words. As for missiles and spacecraft, then there should be divided into two major topics. If we are talking about the development of unmanned exploration of the moon, this station Luna-25, 26 and further, these works are included in the Federal space program until 2025 and should be implemented in a fairly close time. That is, in 2017, 2018 and following years.

as for manned flight to the moon, then do the necessary breakthrough effort, because the current existing launchers and even rocket launchers near term, unfortunately, will not be able to provide it to the moon in the flight plan of the Russian man on the moon in the near future. That is, there is required the development of new launch vehicles.

In particular, called the carrier rocket “Angara-А5В”. This so-called heavy carrier rocket with increased lifting capacity. She mnogovekovoe scheme, that is, when using the launch facilities at Vostochny cosmodrome and the Plesetsk cosmodrome for four start-up could provide an expedition on the moon. But these works are beyond the scope of the Federal space program. They are registered only research — research work, experimental design. And implemented they will have much further after 25 years. But nevertheless these missiles, ships and, accordingly, the technology is in the plans.

the Goal of establishing a manned lunar station? What scientific work will be performed there?

— It is primarily the scientific study of the moon itself. Because even those the flights of American astronauts and Soviet robotic spacecraft that have been made in 70-e years, and then was automatic flying probes in our time, they discovered only a small part of the mystery, which is our Moon. In particular, in recent years, it was discovered fairly large supplies of water in the lunar soil. This is very important, if there is, for example, will create a lunar station, you can get water, and the water can get oxygen and hydrogen, which can serve as fuel. That is a direct path to the development of the resources of the moon.

Well, then, the Moon is very convenient polygon milking various astrophysical studies. Because unlike the Earth there is no atmosphere, it is possible to position the various radio telescopes or some kind of x-ray optics can be installed directly on the surface of the satellite. And for the maintenance of all this equipment is very convenient to use astronauts. Because the technique is very complex, we understand that it can break down. So here the astronauts will perform the role of scientists and operators.

When we are talking about flights to the moon, Russia is cooperating with certain countries or rivals?

— We try to cooperate. Here, in particular, there are joint projects, the so-called lunar village, which is being developed jointly with the European space Agency. Europeans are also not averse to participate in this program because they all this is extremely interesting, but in their plans there is the creation of a missile or spacecraft to fly to the moon. So they really would like with us to fly up there.

— From my side that they are willing to bring in Finance, or something else?

— No, not only. They, I think, with a good balance of power might just help the technologies, which we lack. While it is difficult to say, nevertheless, these negotiations are ongoing.
