LinkedIn responded to start blocking social networks in Russia – TASS

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Company LinkedIn Corporation extends, which owns blocked the Russian social network Linkedin considers the activity relevant legislation of Russia. This is stated in the message sent to users of the social network.

“We believe that our activities comply with local laws and regulations, and at the moment we are considering all possible ways to resolve the situation and options of our further actions”, – stated in the message.

the company noted that the Russian users can access the network outside the Russian Federation, and also can send a request to the authority for refund proportional to the unused time.

November 17, Roskomnadzor has blocked a social network for search and establishment of business contacts LinkedIn, making it in the register of infringers of rights of personal data subjects, and also sent operators a notification that the resource.

“We appealed to the appropriate Federal Agency, Roskomnadzor, asking them to meet to discuss the request for the transfer of personal data. Depending on how it will be enforced this decision, the majority of our services may not be available on the territory of the Russian Federation for some time”, – stressed in Linkedin.

Previously, the Moscow city court recognized lawful blocking of LinkedIn in violation of the law on personal data localization in Russia, according to which the processing and storage of personal data Russians only allowed on the territory of Russia.
