Interplanetary station “exomars” transmitted to Earth the first signal – Russian Newspaper

Interplanetary Russian-European station “exomars” transmitted to Earth the first signal after separation from the upper stage and enter the flight path to Mars. This is stated on the page of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Twitter.

Recall launch of the carrier rocket “Proton-M” with the station “exomars-2016″ took place yesterday at 12:33 MSK on. The device is separated from the upper stage at 23:13 MSK.


 

It is planned that the plant will reach Mars seven months later, in October.


 

As part of the first phase of the mission includes an orbiter Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) and landing demonstration module Schiaparelli. The first will study trace gases of the atmosphere and the distribution of water ice in the soil of Mars. With the help of the Schiaparelli it will be perfected technology input to the atmosphere and landing on the surface of the Red Planet.


 

The second stage of the mission “exomars” is scheduled for 2018. This part of the project is of particular importance. Russian experts are developing a landing platform that will ensure delivery to the surface of Mars rover European “Pasteur”. It will establish a set of scientific equipment for use on Mars, which is also done in Russia.
