MSU climbed 6 positions in the ranking of the world’s best universities – BFM.Ru

First place in the Quacquarelli Symonds third year in a row the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

MSU climbed six places compared with 2013 a year in the annual ranking of higher education institutions, compiled by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). This year, a Russian university ranked 114th. It is noteworthy that in the top 200, in addition to MSU, other higher education institutions in Russia were not included. So, St. Petersburg State University, was on the 233 location. 322 and 328 places were the Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman and Novosibirsk State University, respectively. Moscow State Institute of International Relations took place 399.

A total of 863 rating came from 3,000 high schools, which were evaluated by experts. The criteria used to determine the QS University rankings were as follows: reputation, the number of students, research papers, citations, degree of internationalization, student exchange program.

For the third year in a row the best according to these criteria is the American Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Experts praised his great contribution to science and technological discoveries.

The second and third place were two British university. This is the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.
