A number of Russian media reported, citing a source in the space industry problems with a Russian military satellite, launched on the eve of 5 December from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region. These publications are not yet commented on the Ministry of Defense.
It is reported that a military satellite could not be separated from the upper stage of the new “Volga”. According to RIA Novosti, the Defense Ministry discussed the issue of reducing the orbit and the subsequent flooding of the satellite from the upper stage launch.
On December 5, according to the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation, the upper stage “Volga”, along with two military satellites cleanly separated the second stage of the carrier rocket “Soyuz-2.1V”.
Then, it was reported that both satellites displayed on the calculated orbit and made contact with the command center. Both satellites have been taken to control the main space center named after Titov, after which they are assigned serial numbers “Kosmos-2511″ and “Kosmos-2512″.
