MOSCOW, December 14 – RIA Novosti. The Moscow Arbitration Court on the suit Russian Defense Ministry has decided to collect from the Khrunichev Center about 1.8 billion rubles of losses caused by the accident in 2013 with the launch vehicle “Proton-M”, RIA news from the courtroom.

The representative of the Ministry of Defense reported the court that the plaintiff is seeking to recover damages in the amount of the cost of the launch vehicle, fairing and other equipment lost as a result of the accident. The lawsuit brought against the manufacturer of the booster, because of poor-quality work which, according to the plaintiff, there was an accident.

The representative of the Khrunichev Center has laid part of the blame on the military representative of the Ministry of Defense, which, according to the defendant negligently performed their duties with the acceptance of the product. The defendant asked to reduce the amount of damages exacted from him, given the mutual blame the plaintiff and defendant.

The first instance court fully satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Defense. The decision has not yet entered into force. Within a month, it can be appealed.

The collapse of the “Proton-M” took place July 2, 2013. Carrier rocket with three satellites “Glonass-M” off course and fell on the territory of Baikonur in the first minute of the flight. The Investigative Committee said earlier that the cause was the improper installation of emergency angular rate sensors.

The last state of emergency with the carrier rocket “Proton-M” happened on the night of May 16, 2015, was lost as a result of the Mexican satellite.
