St. Petersburg authorities have developed a program for the burial of the remains of Crown Prince Alexei and Grand Duchess Maria in the family vault of the Romanovs in the Peter and Paul Fortress, said in Moscow on Friday, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Kirillov.
“The ceremony can be held on 18 October,” – Kirill said after a meeting of the working group on issues related to research and the reburial of the remains of the children of Emperor Nicholas II – Crown Prince Alexei and Grand Duchess Maria.
According to him, the head of the working group, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko will make a report on the work of the group to the Russian leadership, and the date – October 18 – can be maintained.
The Russian Orthodox Church is not against choice burial, he said.
