The ability to quickly find the answer to almost every question is misleading about their own intelligence, say psychologists American Psychological Association.

As a result of experiments, the researchers found that subjects who were looking for on the Internet the information you need, is under the illusion that Internet data are part of their own knowledge.

«Internet – is such a powerful medium that gives access to the world’s knowledge. And it becomes very easy to confuse their own knowledge and information from the external environment. When people get used to it, it becomes difficult to objectively assess their own mental abilities, they become very dependent on the Internet, “- said one of the researchers, post-graduate department of psychology at Yale University, Matthew Fisher.

The study involved 302 people . They were divided into two groups. They were asked the same questions, and then the first group allows you to find the answer on the Internet, and the second gave out the text with a ready answer. After that assessed their own opinion on the amount of knowledge on the subject under discussion.

Those subjects who found the answer on the Web, were confident that they know on the subject much more than it actually was. It is curious that even if they did not find the answer to these questions, and just browse websites on the subject, they have created the illusion that they know more about the topic.

«With the Internet, the boundaries between what you know and what you think, you know, erased, “- said Matthew Fisher. According to him, in some situations, such inadequate self-esteem can be dangerous.
