Facebook will develop virtual reality to social networks – REGNUM

Washington, February 22, 2016, 07:42 – REGNUM Facebook American company, which owns the eponymous social network announced the launch of a new department, which will implement the project on the development of “virtual reality» (VR) for social networks. A statement published today, on February 22 at the company’s website.

It is reported that Facebook management has gathered a team that is focused on the work on the study of the future of social interaction in virtual reality (VR). The team will study how users can get in touch and share data using both the current VR technology, and possible VR long-term perspective as the growing importance of the platform.

In Facebook recalled that virtual reality is no longer fantastic. For example, there are South Korean technology company Samsung, in particular, Gear VR platform – a “virtual reality helmet.” This platform came in wide sale in 2015 and became extremely popular. Already more than one million hours of video were viewed with the help of such helmets.

The American social network believe that in the future, virtual reality will allow to use more types of communication. It will create opportunities for friends living in different parts of the world, spending time together and feel as if they really are close, confident in the company.
