Yesterday, August 15 on our planet began a magnetic storm that spawned a coronal mass ejection on the Sun, directed towards the Earth.
As you know, August 12 17:48 MSK in the southwest quadrant of the visible disk of the Sun was recorded coronal mass ejection and the collapse of the solar fiber. There was a long (for 141 minutes) outbreak Class 7.0 (S27W27, at maximum 18:26 MSK). Emission component was directed towards the Earth.
According to the representatives of IPG, a magnetic storm was expected in the world in the late evening on August 15 or 16 of August. Instruments recorded its beginning August 15 in the early evening.
Unfortunately, the people of Russia, living on the latitude of Moscow will not be able to admire the beautiful aurora. But in the northern latitudes magnetic storm may cause interruptions in communication.
It should be noted that solar flares of X-ray facilities are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M and X.
The most “weak” class A0.0 corresponds to the radiation power in the orbit of the planet in ten NW per square meter. Each subsequent class has 10 times more moshnost. Powerful flash with orientation towards the Earth and other conditions usually cause magnetic storms on the planet.
