NASA tested the engine for extra-heavy rocket SLS – a REGNUM

Washington, August 14, 2015, 15:16 – REGNUM The US space agency NASA reported the successful testing of a new liquid rocket engine RS-25 (SS-25), which will be used in future rocket Space Launch System (SLS) for flights to Mars. This was reported on the agency’s website.

The tests were held on Thursday, August 13 on the platform A-1 in the John Stennis Space Center, located in the state of Mississippi. During the test rocket RS-25 launched at 535 seconds. It is now required first-stage engine for developing the existing fuel in the process of withdrawal of support to the orbit of the Earth.

As reported in NASA, analysis of test results will be published in a few days.
