In the US, scientists accidentally discovered a way to predict tornado – “What’s going on?”

The American scientists, watching songbird, accidentally made a discovery that helps to predict the approach of destructive tornadoes.

By the tabs 20 birds of the genus Vermivora, which are held for seasonal observations were attached sensors in May 2013 year. Birds migrate to winter in Colombia, and in spring 2014 half of the birds returned. Shortly after their return to the territory devastating tornado hit US, which claimed the lives of dozens of people.

After the disaster, scientists caught five birds with sensors and found that the birds before approaching tornado flew from the place where he raged at 700 km towards the south. And this despite the fact that before the birds migrating, covered the distance of 5000 km. Once the element has settled, the bird immediately returned to their places of nesting.

Thus, ornithologists have put forward the theory that songbirds feel the approach of a tornado and leave their nesting place on average 24 hours before the fall element . Scientists believe that birds hear the bass drone, which publishes an approaching hurricane. A man can not hear it, but it is spread over thousands of kilometers from the source.

It has long been known that not only birds can predict natural disasters. For example, before the 2004 tsunami that hit Southeast Asia, domestic cats and dogs were extremely worried to warn their owners of impending disaster.
