Moscow. December 31st. INTERFAX.RU – In the outgoing 2014 Russia kept the first place in the number of space launches, said the Russian Space Agency.

“For the first time since the Soviet era, in accordance with plans to launch a spacecraft in 2014 carried out 38 launches” – the report says the Russian Space Agency.

main achievement, the Agency considered the “birth” of the first family of carrier rockets “Angara”, which were created since the mid-1990s. Specialists of the Russian space industry and the Russian Defense Ministry successfully tested launch vehicles of light class “Angara-1.2″ and heavy class “Angara-A5″.

According to the Russian Federal Space Agency, in 2014, Russia launched a record number of spacecraft – 80, 31 of them for public use unit, five commercial and 44 small satellites. Russian companies have created and launched three spacecraft for foreign customers. One of the conversion of carrier rockets, launched June 19 GMD Dombarovsky program “Dnepr”, put into orbit a record number of satellites – 34 spacecraft for customers from 17 countries. During the year the Russian space industry experts provided 4 missile launch “Soyuz-ST” from the European Kourou in French Guiana and one launch rocket “Zenit-2SL” program “Sea Launch”.

From Baikonur Plesetsk in 2014 produced 10 carrier rockets. These include launches rockets “Angara-1.2″ and “Angara-A5″ with gruzomaketami satellites flight test program space rocket complex “Angara”, launches rockets, who brought into orbit spacecraft navigation, including two devices “Glonass-M”, one device “Glonass-K”, as well as three handsets personal satellite communication system “messenger-M”.

In 2014, the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), and jointly with international partners was carried out an extensive program of scientific and applied research and experiments aimed at solving technological problems of space exploration and improving life on Earth. Fully implemented plans for logistics support for the ISS.

During the year, the Russian Space Agency experts have developed a draft concept for the development of manned spaceflight Russia, which provides capacity building on the use of low-Earth orbit, as well as the tasks of space exploration for their limits.
