Roboty- “trasformery” will help NASA to study the moon – NA version, Saratov

Roboty- “trasformery” will help NASA to study the Moon

Experts Jet Propulsion Laboratory space agency NASA plans to create robots of “Transformers”, which will help in the study of the reverse side of the moon. Robots – autonomous and self-assembling modular “smart mirror” – will not be similar to those in the movies.

This is the name of the robots have received because the moon will be delivered fully assembled, are already there to take the required position, turning on the principle of “origami”, and to direct light from direct sunlight lunar surface craters and the places of the moon, where there is a constant night. Such a robot left on the edge of the crater, will be able to direct the mirror reflected light rays that will help astronauts and the lunar rover to recharge batteries and warm thanks to work longer under these conditions. NASA engineers hope that the development will help to open many secrets of the moon.

This project was one of the seven winners of the annual competition of innovations NASA’s Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC), which aims – to identify unusual, sometimes futuristic projects for Middle and outer space and the planets of the solar system and to support their public funding. Although NASA experts emphasize that such development – it distant future, but we are confident that the potential of all approved innovation will be implemented by 100%.
