Researchers at the US space agency NASA announced that a large ozone hole in the atmosphere began to shrink and disappear by the end of the 21st century.

Some experts argue that the size of the ozone hole is now 12 million square miles, and fall to less than 8 million square miles in the next 30 years.

The ozone hole, which was first discovered by a group of British scientists about 30 years ago during the study in Antarctica, it has long been considered a major environmental problem for scientists and environmentalists.

The NASA reminded that the ozone hole has formed at the south pole of the widespread use of ozone-damaging chemicals and will lead to increased levels of cancer-causing ultraviolet radiation in the world.

In 1987, all major economically strong countries signed the Montreal Protocol to reduce the use of harmful chemicals, including chlorofluorocarbons, which cause damage to the ozone layer. Since 1987, most of the harmful chemicals were replaced by ozone-safe alternative chemicals.

It was reported earlier that the new ozone hole has a negative impact on the inhabitants of Eastern Europe.
