Scientists have found in the excavations of the ancient Phanagoria in the Temryuk district of the Krasnodar territory is the oldest ancient temple on the territory of Russia. This was reported in the press service of the fund Oleg Deripaska “the Free case” supporting excavations.

 Age temple has not been determined. Scientists  have suggested that this temple is the oldest,  since it was located at what was discovered in  2013. The total area of  the building – 14.5 sq. m. build the  temple from mud bricks without foundation, as well  as many of the buildings Phanagoria that time.
  
 The temple, which is still considered the most  ancient, was small – only 10 square meters.  The building consisted of the temple premises  (SPLA) and in front of him (pronaos).
  
 Phanagoria founded in the middle of the VI  century BC Greek settlers, the city has long been  one of the two capitals of the oldest in Russia of  public education – Bosporus Kingdom (since V  century BC.).
  
 In this, the 12th joint field season  Fanagoriyskaya complex archaeological expedition,  which carried out the Foundation Oleg Deripaska  “the Free case” and the Institute of  Archaeology Academy of Sciences, involved about  250 scientists, students and volunteers from the  Krasnodar Territory, Moscow, St. Petersburg,  Orenburg, Magnitogorsk, Voronezh, Samara, Tyumen.
