Physicists have found a way to count the moments without hours Росбалт.RU

Swiss physicists have discovered a method of measuring time without a clock. They studied the photoemission — the process of releasing electrons when emitting light on a few materials.

Researchers have resorted to using the laser. Shooting on the ions, they revealed the selection of two state – conditional zero and one. The duration of the fluctuations between these units and is the countdown.

Thus, scientists were able to determine that the duration of photoemission is one billionth of one billionth of a second. According to the scientist Hugo Dila, such measurements will be used in the study of matter and light, to improve atomic clocks and other important in the world of fundamental physics problems.

Diehl also reported that they were able to measure the fastest process in the Universe. This study will initiate a new field in physics and will help to make a number of important human discoveries, Vista News reports.
