Cassini has photographed an unusual structure in the rings of Saturn – the Russian Newspaper

NASA has published on its website the most detailed images of Saturn’s rings from a space research probe “Cassini”.

the Camera was able to capture from a close distance the external part of the main rings of the gas giant that gave scientists the mission “Cassini” a wonderful opportunity to observe these unusual structures in the rings, as “straws” and “propellers” caused by agglomerated particles of the hidden rings and small moons of the planet. Previously, Cassini has recorded such features, but now thanks to its current orbit, experts were able to examine them in more detail.

According to the scientist of the mission “Cassini” Matthew Tiscareno (Matthew Tiscareno), image taken at close range, give a new image of Saturn’s rings. “In the next few months we look forward to receipt more interesting data,” he said.

Total scheduled 20 “dives” “Cassini” past the outer edge of the main ring system. Of them, the probe has taken nearly half. The program flyby of the rings was launched in November last year and will last until the end of April this year. After that the unit will be selected to the Grand finale. The last phase of the mission involves the performance of 22 final speed, during which Cassini will repeatedly dive through the gap between the rings and Saturn. The first such final dive is scheduled for April 26.
