Skype went into offline – BBC News

Users worldwide are experiencing problems connecting to VoIP-service Skype. On Twitter, many complain about the inability to log on and change the status and all the contacts in your address book are displayed as “Offline” even if one of them is online. As a result, users can neither make nor receive calls.

In Microsoft said that Skype was the “unavailable due to problems related to the status of settings.” The company has already restored the function of private messaging and web version of messenger (Skype for Web), but customers for mobile devices and PCs are still not working. “We are doing everything we can to solve this problem, and we hope soon to release another update,” – said in a press release developer.

The microblogs wrote that Skype is not available in Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand. In addition, no messages are delivered in group chats, and information about the account balance is updated after a long delay.

While Microsoft has taken troubleshooting, users are encouraged to use the browser version of Skype, which started in June. The Web version of the messenger running without installing the client application on the computer and is available at web.skype.com.
