MOSCOW, September 27 – RIA Novosti. In the night from Sunday to Monday, Russians will be able to observe an unusual lunar eclipse coinciding with Supermoon.

Total lunar eclipse will begin September 28, 2015 at 5:00 am Moscow time and will last until 6:30 am . The Earth’s shadow completely eclipse visible surface of the moon, giving our satellite reddish-brown hue.

Astronomers emphasize the uniqueness of this event. According to them, the moon during the eclipse will be in perigee – the minimum distance from Earth in 2015. Thus, in the shadow of the Earth will enter the super-moon.

If favorable weather conditions, a total lunar eclipse can be seen just before dawn in the western and central regions of Russia and CIS. In Moscow, the full phase of the eclipse will be visible almost completely, said the planetarium.

Lunar eclipses occur when the natural satellite of our planet, moving around the Earth enters the Earth’s shadow. If the plane of the orbit of the Moon and the Earth’s match, the lunar eclipse would be repeated every month. But the angle between them is 5 degrees: that there was an eclipse, the moon at the full moon should be located at the intersection point of its orbit and the plane of Earth’s orbit – the ecliptic.

For the year usually occurs one or two lunar eclipses, but this year Earth awaits just four such events.
