Scientists first observed the cosmic catastrophe

Telescope Spitzer allowed to consider a dust cloud around a young star, which was formed after the collision of large asteroids

Scientists have suggested that the Spitzer telescope recorded traces of a cosmic catastrophe. Watching the cosmic dust, which is located at a distance of 1,200 light-years from Earth, experts have concluded that the same could be several billion years ago in the Solar System.

Previously, scientists began to watch the star NGC 2547-ID8, which snowballed until 2013 a cosmic cloud. As it turned out, the telescope allowed to capture the effects of an asteroid collision around sun-like star.

According mk.ru, it is assumed that this type of collision could eventually lead to the formation of planets. Tellingly, the scientists conducted the first such observations – they are literally in the online mode to monitor the condition before and after the collision of cosmic bodies. This will allow them to look into the process of the formation of rocky planets.

Watching this star specialists will be to continue and more.
