The image was taken July 15, 2015 from a distance of two million kilometers to a dwarf planet. In the picture visible halo indicating the presence of Pluto’s atmosphere.
Earlier, New Horizons has recorded movement of nitrogen ice on Pluto, which is similar to the movement of migration of glaciers on Earth. Station New Horizons has recorded movement of glaciers on the left edge of the region Tombaugh, also known as the “heart” of the dwarf planet. Most clearly the movement of nitrogen ice can be seen in the area of the plateau satellite, astronomers have spotted where the boundary between light and dark areas typical for moving glaciers now.
