In China have unearthed a fragment of Buddha’s skull – Rosbalt.RU


 China has carried out archaeological excavations under the Buddhist temple in the city Nankiy. Recently, researchers have found there a casket, which was the parietal bone of the human skull. There are signs scientists have suggested that this skull could belong to the Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama).

 Archaeologists have explored the ancient crypt beneath a Buddhist temple, where there was a stone chest. In it they found a metal box, which was stored in a silver casket. A fragment of skull resting in a golden casket inside the casket. Age artifact is approximately a thousand years.

 An indirect indication of belonging to Siddhartha Gautama bones found in the story of her arrival in China, which is placed on a stone chest. It also pointed out that the casket was created under the emperor Chen Tsung of the Sung dynasty, who ruled in the years 997-1022.

 It is noteworthy that the casket is made of sandalwood and decorated with silver and gold sheets with relief images, as well as precious stones. Together with the part of the skull in the casket were three crystal vessel and the box with the relics.

 However, archaeologists have not yet taken to assert with absolute certainty that the bone belonged to Buddha.
