On May 1 in Russia come into force amendments to the anti-piracy law, it applies to musical and literary works.
The new wording of the law allows holders to seek the removal of products from the sites on which they are laid illegally. To do this, they will have to apply to Roskomnadzor.
In the event of failure to remove pirated copies of works from the site Roskomnadzor will require that providers have blocked access for its users to the resource.
In addition, the law allows you to select from sites with illegal content domain name, that is, actually remove them from the Russian Internet.
However, this will have twice the legal owner to prove in court the fact of violation of their rights.
Nearly 200 complaints per year
anti-piracy law came into force in August 2013. However, his action so far applied only to films and TV series. In November 2014 the Russian parliament passed amendments that extend the scope of the law.
In accordance with the amendments to the law are subject illegally posted online musical and literary works, as well as software. At the same time the action of the document does not apply to photos.
For the first year of the law Roskomnadzor complaints received from the owners of 175 websites. At the same time before the closing of access to it came in only 12 cases.
700 sites
The Roskomnadzor noted that from May 1, expect a doubling of the number of applications removal of illegal content. Sami rights holders previously said they plan to refer a complaint about 700 sites.
Fully prepared a list of owners of pirate websites are not disclosed. It is known that the number of resources that is scheduled to file lawsuits were rutor.org, primemusic.ru and buffa.ru.
At the same time, rights holders do not exclude that in the end will be able to settle claims in pretrial order. This site will have to remove pirated content and start selling legal products to users.
Some sites that could be affected by the anti-piracy law, on the eve of its entry into force there are special forms through which the holder may require prompt remove its proizvedeniq.
