Aksenov gave a start to the second mobile operator in Crimea – RIA Novosti

Simferopol, February 1 – RIA Novosti. The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov on Monday gave a start to the second mobile operator in the country – “Krymtelekom”.

Up to this point the state company provides fixed communications for 290 thousand subscribers and data services to 50 thousand subscribers.

The network operator “Krymtelekom”, which is fully controlled by the state, the standard UTMS (3G) began work on the base stations in the major cities and regions of the Crimea capable of providing mobile internet speed up to 42 Mbit / c. The job is scheduled to run up to 1 thousand base stations in June 2016 is planned to launch the network in the standard 4G.

The source of funding for the project was the state enterprise “Krymtelekom” and private investors.

So far, Crimea worked one telecommunications operator “K-Telecom”, which provides voice and data services under the brand name “Win-mobile”, as well as technical services for other companies roaming. “K-Telecom”, which has over a thousand base stations in the Crimea at the end of the year was one of the major donors to the budget of the Crimea. According to the director of the company Vladimir Zaitsev, the average user “K-Telecom” is spending on communication services about 140 rubles a month, it is two times less than the average in Russia.

The first 100 thousand SIM cards the new operator has already printed and will go on sale Tuesday.
