Moscow, June 1, 2015, 19:45 – REGNUM The Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos), officially named the cause of the accident orbit truck “Progress” that April 28 was unable to deliver the cargo to the International Space Station, and some time later burned in the atmosphere. Commission of Inquiry into the accident found that this feature has not been considered in full during the development work.
There are no restrictions for the further operation of the carrier rocket “Soyuz-2.1a” with other spacecraft, the Commission has not identified .
As previously reported IA REGNUM , April 28 carrier rocket “Soyuz” was not able to bring a full-time orbit truck “Progress”. The unit is on a higher orbit and strong rotation around its axis. All attempts to stabilize the vehicle by using the commands sent from Earth have failed. As a result, the “Progress” descended from orbit and crashed into the Indian Ocean.
