British scientists have managed to solve the problem of shortage of chocolate – The Jewish Times

As it became known, scientists from the UK artificially managed to get unlimited source of raw material for the manufacture of chocolate. In the English city of Redding opened a special greenhouse, where they gathered more than 4000 different varieties of cocoa beans.

The British media reported that botanists have received an investment of over 1 million. Pounds, which according to current projections more than enough for the successful development of experiments. At the moment, has already managed to collect more than 4 thousand. Varieties and species of cocoa beans, among which a significant part of – a newly bred varieties.

These studies began due to the fact that modern chocolate makers are faced with a serious problem – the lack of areas for planting cocoa beans. The whole point is that the demand for the products of the chocolate is constantly increasing, and the proposal falls. At this point, world leaders in the manufacture of sweets have already prepared 30-35% more raw, but this in no way affects the situation deficit as a whole.

Recall that the first chocolate quarantine greenhouse appeared in the early ’80s, and even then there were gathered hundreds of species of cocoa beans. Accordingly, the question of modern technology at the time and was not, therefore, part of the plant is at issue extinction. Fortunately, at the moment is the construction and improvement of the productive base of cocoa products.

Botany of Redding, United Kingdom, has already chalked up hundreds of new species and varieties of cocoa, and much of it has already been tested for susceptibility to various seasonal and climatic stresses. At this rate, we should expect that mankind will be able to get rid of the deficit chocolate.
