Students from Tomsk created a robot arm – REGNUM

Tomsk, December 4, 2015, 13:29 – REGNUM Today in the press service of innovative organizations of the Tomsk region reported that the students of Tomsk Polytechnic University have created an anthropomorphic manipulator arm robot.

The project manager Yegor Shelomentsev explained that the controller counts from sensors that are attached to the glove, sends them to the control system the model arm, and the other is responsible for the controller of the hand.

«All the information is transmitted via a wireless network» , – said Shelomentsev.

What is the this unit? The anthropomorphic manipulator – of two parts: hand made in the 3D-printer and gloves, which are attached to the sensor. The project made by Alexander Belyaev and Kirill Orlov , a student majoring “mechanics and robotics.” The unit was created in connection with the initiative “Roscosmos” about the use of the ISS anthropomorphic robot that want to install on the outside of the board, in case of need, the astronauts did not have the open space to leave the ship to repair the board.
