Moscow authorities have offered to give access to a Wi-Fi “map Muscovite” – RBC

He added that the city government will support the “basic model identification”: sms authentication, identification of federal and Moscow portals government services. “But there are also offered additional identifier formats – through Muscovite’s Social Card, and a number of additional identifiers” – said Yermolaev.

According to him, the authorities expect to have time to create a mechanism to identify the end of 2014 year. Yermolaev added that in the future the system will be adapted for foreigners.

Earlier, the head of the Department of Transportation and Development of road infrastructure in Moscow Maxim Liksutov submitted proposals to the Government on the development of regulations to identify users public access points Wi- Fi and urged not to complicate the identification procedure.

July 31, the Russian government issued a decree that establishes the procedure for identification of users on admission to the Internet. Ministry of Communications, in turn, issued a clarification, stating that if the access point Wi-Fi network operator installed, the user is required to provide their personal data – name, surname, personal identity document number. The new rules do not impose any obligations on individuals who have set the access point.
